Technique of the week: Recovering Guard from side control

Here is a basic guard recovery I like to use. The main difference here from a normal side control escape is I am blocking the opponents arm, trying to keep him from grabbing my head. My other forearm stays under the throat and my leg positioning in the same.

CrossFit WOD:
Back Squat 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps
