Quinoa

Freshly Made Quinoa - YUM!

One of Mike's goals is to eat healthier this year. For those who know him, he's a sucker for sugar, desserts, etc. He still remains fit, which is amazing. The picture above is of the fresh pot of quinoa we made for dinner. We first heard about quinoa from one of our Jiu Jitsu guys and since then we've been hooked.

Quinoa is pronounced keen-wah. It is actually the seed of an herb plant, but people eat treat it the same as eating rice, couscous, etc. Not only is it high in protein, but it is also a great source of calcium, iron, Vitamin E and B Vitamins. Quinoa is very easy to make at home, and is available at most grocery stores. We buy ours at Trader Joe's.
